Islands for Epilepsy is an event that supports those that live with epilepsy. All proceeds will go to The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation. When signing up, each player will receive a pledge sheet. This pledge sheet is your way to get people you know outside (or inside) the disc golf community involved in this cause. Each hole on the course will have an island or two. Ask your pledgers to commit to an amount to donate ($1-$1000 or more) for every island you make off the tee (made or missed islands do not affect your scores for the tournament). This is a two-round event, so for example if you make 20 out of 36 islands and your pledger makes a commitment of $5 per island, they are committing to donate $100 to the cause. Please get all the pledges you can and bring your pledge sheet to the player check-in at the beginning of the tournament. If you get more pledges than the lines on the pledge sheet, you can print another. There will be an additional scorecard for each group to keep track of islands made and they will not be tracked in the PDGA live scoring. Lunch will be provided between rounds by Jets Pizza. After the two rounds, there will be a players’ party at The Backyard in Castle Rock with live music from Wylie Jones. We will hand out trophies, finish the raffle and announce the total money raised. We will also have a silent auction with some cool items! PROs will be playing for cash and AMs will receive a rad player pack with trophies for all divisions. There will also be a special price for the person with the most islands made. Thank you for your support and let’s show people what the disc golf community can do! Much love!
