Annual Gala

Our Signature Fundraising Evening

The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation Annual Gala is a night to celebrate Chelsea’s legacy, honor the families we’ve served, and raise the funds that make it all possible. With dinner, entertainment, auctions, and the full foundation community under one roof, it’s the event of the year.

Gala Sponsorship

Sponsoring the gala is one of the most visible and meaningful ways to support the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation. Our sponsors receive recognition at the event, on the website, and across our community channels—and they know that their investment goes directly toward families in need.

Epilepsy Awareness Day and
Purple Duck Chase

Every summer, the epilepsy community comes together at Elitch Gardens for a day of fun, awareness, and connection. Epilepsy Awareness Day at Elitches features our fan-favorite Purple Duck Chase—where hundreds of purple ducks race down the Lazy River for cash prizes, and anyone, anywhere can sponsor a duck to join in the excitement. Sponsorships start at just $5, with discounts for multiples, and the race streams live on Facebook so the whole community can cheer along no matter where they are.

Registered attendees enjoy specially discounted park tickets—upgradeable to a full season pass right inside the park that day—plus early entry and an ice cream social in the shaded Mt. Evans Pavilion, a perfect chance to relax and connect with others in the epilepsy community. Event t-shirts are available if you’d like to show your support, and if not, we simply ask that you wear purple so we can spot our people throughout the park. Already a season pass holder? You’re more than welcome—just register so we can save your spot at the social.

Walk Together. Fight Together.

Every September, the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation community laces up and walks—for Chelsea, for every family we’ve served, and for every family still waiting for help. The Walk is one part fundraiser, one part reunion, and entirely about showing up for each other.

About the Foundation

✦ ✦ ✦

The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation was established in 2009 by Julie and Doug Hutchison in memory of their daughter Chelsea Alice Hutchison, who passed away from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our board is composed of family members, which ensures that Chelsea’s vision and values remain at the center of every decision we make.

All the funds we raise, including individual donations, go directly toward our programs. We are grateful to every sponsor, volunteer, attendee, and donor who makes this work possible.
