The People Behind the Mission

The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation is run by people who know firsthand what it means to love someone with epilepsy. We’re not a corporation. We’re a family—and we’ve opened that family to anyone who wants to make a difference.

Meet the Team

Our Ambassadors

Our ambassadors are volunteers, advocates, and community members who give their time, talents, and voices to Chelsea’s mission. They show up at bingo nights, on walking routes, at gala tables, and at school presentations. They are the heartbeat of this foundation.

Chandelle Owens

About 12 years ago, after my son was diagnosed with epilepsy, The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation provided our family with an Emfit monitor. That gift made an incredible difference in our lives and inspired me to help spread awareness and raise funds so other families can receive the same support. I am forever grateful for CHF and the wonderful people who have become part of my life through this organization.

Our connection to the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation (CHF) began after the loss of our son, Joseph, to SUDEP. While nothing can lessen the pain of losing him, being involved with CHF has given our family a meaningful way to honor his life and keep his memory alive. It has been a blessing to support such an inspiring foundation and to stand alongside others working toward a future where no family has to experience this kind of loss. Joseph’s love, joy, and light continue to inspire us every day, and we are honored to carry his legacy forward through this work.

Heidi Stevens

Our son’s life changed forever when he experienced 12 seizures on the first day of 8th grade, and we desperately searched for answers. One late night, we found the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation, and Julie Hutchison’s response marked the beginning of a journey filled with lifesaving support, connection, community, and family. We are forever grateful to the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation—and today, we proudly wear purple.

I have two adult sons with Epilepsy. My background is in Mortgage Banking and Sales, but my heart is with the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation. Together, we can make strides to bring awareness and support to the epilepsy community!

Karen Wagner

My daughter lived with epilepsy for 12 years before she sadly passed away from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). In her memory, I proudly support the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation’s (CHF) mission to advance advocacy, education, monitors and awareness surrounding both epilepsy and SUDEP, helping families access the knowledge and resources they need while working toward a future with fewer epilepsy-related tragedies.

Kathryn Losea

I have been involved with the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation for the past 12 years as both a watch monitor recipient and a Disney Wish trip recipient. Throughout the years, I have volunteered at several STOMP Walks and EADDL events, and while living out of state limits my ability to assist with local events, I have only missed one major fundraiser. As an Ambassador, my goal is to continue raising awareness about the Foundation’s mission, share the impact of its work, and help keep Chelsea’s legacy alive.

After receiving the roller-coaster diagnosis of Epilepsy for my youngest daughter, I credit CHF with giving me and my family the knowledge, education, support, and encouragement we needed to move forward. Simply put, the Chelsea Hutchinson Foundation was the right place to start looking for answers, and it’s my mission to pay it forward to others who get an epilepsy diagnosis.

Stacey Biggs

I am someone who has learned firsthand what it means to navigate life caring for someone with epilepsy and still show up with strength, clarity, and purpose. I’m committed to supporting others, helping them feel seen, understood, and empowered. My goal is to make the journey less isolating by sharing resources, encouragement, and real‑world guidance.

Toni New

I had the rare privilege of meeting Chelsea when she was 5 . . . she truly was magical! Watching Julie and Doug turn their tragedy into a living legacy to Chelsea has been inspirational. It is an honor to work with CHF, providing families with life-saving tools and community support.
